So early! So awake. It's always frustrating when you can't ever go back to sleep, especially after a restless night of minimum actual sleep! I'm laying here trying to sort out the plans for today, and it's proving itself to be quite the challenge. These are the moments I could get along without.
Is it strange to possibly have a "new favorite band" just because of one song? This happens to me a lot honestly. From Taylor Swift, to Train, to Brad Paisley, to now Zac Brown Band. It's rare to hear a song and truly listen to it so closely that you get chill bumps. But...that's what the song "Colder Weather" did. I've never been so enthralled in a song's lyrics that when it changes to acapella a level of shock comes and you realize just how amazing and beautiful the human voice is. Now my music taste is once again being shuffled to make them a lead contender in my search for my favorite.
Lately, I have been so overwhelmed by trying to finish everything that is asked of me. I hate to let someone down, especially if a favor has been asked. I have been so rushed that I've forgotten how to stop and enjoy nothing. A friend texted me to just be still and feel God, and so often I forget that those are the moments that can mean the most in the day. Those are the times that can make your plans change in just the slightest way for the better. Here I am, 7:30 a.m. mind already racing about what the day entails that I miss out on a precious moment of peace - before my dog starts barking or my brother wakes up the household with an original song. "Be Still and KNOW" should run the day, not "what's next to finish"? Take a moment, breathe, and see what is being offered to you to realize.
I'm just a Mississippi girl trying to make the right choices and make it through life.

Ch ch ch Changes....
Starting a blog? Me? I never really considered myself to be the type to be a "blogger", but so often in my life I wish that I had an outlet to express everything, so here I am. I wish I could figure out the right way to begin, but I'm having a bit of writers block right now.
This summer...Words can't describe. It's been eye-opening, challenging, tearful, joyful...all of the above. Only a few more weeks until I head back to Oxford, it's overwhelming! I'm looking forward to beginning again with a year of experience under my belt. I'm amazing how much you can learn over just a span of a year; I can't count how many times I changed my major, changed my classes, changed my outifts even! Going back gives me butterflies knowing all of the challenges that await and the opportunities that are going to be open to me once more. We'll see what comes of this year and even what happens with the rest of the summer..
